Harnessing Wind Power

Wind is found in many parts of the earth. There are many places on the earth that are very windy. You can use this power to generate energy. In Europe and the U.S it has become very common. Harnessing wind energy has been used for many years and has been in existence for many years. The old technology has vastly been improved now and the latest technology harness wind power more efficiently and effectively. The wind turbines have improved considerably and it turns the blades in such a way that it converts into energy.

Wind energy is the process by which the wind is used to produce electricity or mechanical power. Wind turbines change the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. The energy is used to do certain specific task like grinding grains or pumping water. Many times with the help of generator this energy source is to power homes, school or any other such place.

Wind turbines turn in the moving air and power an electric generator that supplies an electric current. It works like a fan, but in opposite manner, the blades are moved by the wind and it spins a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity.

However, the only problem is that you need lots of windmill to generate considerable amount of energy. To build windmills you need open areas and the open area are under the laws of conversion. There are huge protests in building turbines in such area. The only alternative left is that the wind turbines be built in off-shore areas. People all over from the world are looking at the viable options where they can build windmills. Another problem is the noise they make. Many people who are residing nearby think that the noise level is unbearable.
