Heating water with solar energy

There has been an increase in the popularity of solar water heating systems as it costs less. Where there is abundant sunlight, the people should switch to solar energy for their use. The modern solar power heating systems are installed on the roof of the house. There is a thin roof plate or several plates to collect the sun's rays. There are many families for whom it is adequate to have solar power heating system. The location, design, the position of the collectors as well as the number and size of the collector boxes will affect the amount of hot water produced.

In the passive solar water heating systems the water tank is often inside the solar collector box and is stored inside that tank. The water in the storage tank integrated into the solar collector heats and when hot water is turned on, water comes out of the storage tank and into the home. In the active solar water heating systems there is pump that moves the cold water supply to the solar collector and when heated the pump moves the hot water into an indoor, well insulated storage tank for use on demand.

The most common solar collector design used for hot water systems is made up of copper plate, painted black that has water tubes attached to it or placed just above it. As the sun's rays fall on the plate, they are absorbed creating heat. The heat from the sun warms the water in the tubes that are above or connected to the copper plate. Once the water is heated in an active system, it is moved into the storage tank for use when needed. The solar panels are used to produce energy in many ways. Water can be heated, power can be produced and homes or pools can be heated with the help of solar panels. The power from sun is a major breakthrough with the help of which we can have environmental friendly and cost effective power generation. The solar energy kit helps in harnessing considerable levels of solar energy in remote locations.
